The submitted photographs should capture various moments that express the bond or interaction between humans and pets, feelings of happiness, or decisive moments and expressions of animals. There are no restrictions on the types of animals that can be featured.
The application period is from August 20 to September 30. To apply, participants need to enter basic information on the Daejeon International Photography Festival website and can upload up to five photos per person. There is no entry fee.
Awards include one Gold Prize, two Silver Prizes, and three Bronze Prizes, with 60% of the submissions being selected for recognition.
Rejected submissions will also be displayed, with one piece per participant, to encourage participants from across the country to visit the Daejeon International Photography Festival.
The Pet Photography Contest exhibition will be held at Daejeon Expo Citizen Plaza. Additionally, the festival will invite renowned photographers specializing in pet and animal photography to host a 'Pet and Animal Photography Exhibition.' The exhibition period will be from November 13 to 24.
An event representative stated, "The Daejeon International Photography Festival is the first international photography event to be held in the Chungcheong region. We plan to regularly host exhibitions of pet photographs that convey happiness through interactions with humans."
